Rain and the blessing of creativity

Summer in the high desert of Arizona begins when the hot weather of June reminds us why we don't live in lower deserts. This summer began much as last year with temperatures over 100 degrees for days.

Then in mid July the monsoons arrived blessing us with rain almost every day for weeks, a rarity to be sure. My Dahlias have especially loved the cooler weather and are blooming their hearts out.

The rain has inspired a whole new body of work celebrating the blessing of water. It was a joy to work with so many beautiful stones whose voice so perfectly represent the movement and essence of rain.
